Sad to say, but it has been 15 years since the NFL graced its presence in Los Angeles. With the recent rumblings of a Chargers move to our city, I would just as well never have the NFL back in L.A. However, it seems that discussions of a proposed stadium site in downtown have never been more real. Take a look!

As I sit here, while my wife is wrapping both Hanukkah and Christmas presents for our two boys and we are discussing the shipping methodology behind our individual online shopping (a conversation entitled "How Not to Accidentally Open Your Gifts"), I reflect on the intricacies of growing up in both a Jewish and Christian household. With dozens of goodies scattered in and around the dining room table I can't help but wonder if I will be able to convey to my boys the importance of both belief systems. I am by no means a religious person, in fact my own personal ideals revolve around the health, well-being and happiness of my small family unit. My simple terms are not unique nor do I think they are revolutionary, but they do involve the idea that religion (or any alternative belief system) is an important quality to understand. The fundamentals involved in teachings are relevant tools to the little lives we are helping shape as long as the we never lose sight of one constant...Choice. The power to choose is perhaps the most qualifying constant that we are trying to instill in our boys. If we are able to offer the knowledge and teachings that have helped formed us today, then the power for them to make informed choices and decisions tomorrow will be nothing short of a major success.
